About
Cornerstone Riding Academy offers group classes, private classes, horse riding, horsemanship skills, groundwork, canter work, enrichment activities, and mommy & me classes. Baby Wranglers and Ranch Hands learn exclusively on highly trained mini horses, and Baby Wranglers classes pair a parent, toddler, and a mini horse. With the exception of Private Lessons, all horses used in each class are American Horse Company Signature Horses, and lesson horses are described as safe, willing, confident horses.
• Ages: 2–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes meet once a week with flexible scheduling, Monday–Saturday between 8am and 6pm; Baby Wranglers and Ranch Hands meet once a week for 30 minutes, Buckaroos meet once a week for 45 minutes, Wranglers meet once a week for one hour, and Private Lessons meet once a week for one hour.
• Price: Baby Wranglers $200 per month; Ranch Hands $250 per month; Buckaroos $300 per month; Wranglers $350 per month; Private Lessons $400 per month.
The program states that its curriculum has been proven to establish a strong foundation and allow students to succeed in any equine discipline in their future. Classes are structured to be age and skill appropriate, with small class sizes. Enrichment is included in each lesson for younger students. Private Lessons are custom tailored to the student and their individual horsemanship journey, and any student using their own horse is placed in Private Lessons. There are no deadlines for registration, and anyone can register at any time. The program holds monthly round ups where, for the last 10 minutes of class, parents are invited into the arena for progress reports from the instructor.
According to its mission statement, Cornerstone Riding Academy focuses on building a foundation for the rider, teaching safety around horses first and also focusing on balance, proper handling techniques, and real horsemanship skills. The leadership team lists Mark Hernandez as Head Trainer, with contact information for Mark at [email protected] and direct line (719) 600-4506.
