The stated purpose of the Extended Hours Program is to provide a comfortable, safe, and interesting environment for children who will be or have already spent a challenging day in school. According to the mission statement, the program is designed so children can be with their friends, take part in special activities and classes, work on homework assignments, and relax, while staff make efforts to meet individual needs and build a cohesive group. The mission statement also notes that the program’s design recognizes educational enrichment as a primary means for children to pursue social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth. The program accepts funding through the Mesa County Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP).
