About

The Extended Hours Program offers STEM learning activities, arts and crafts, science experiments, creative writing, and organized group games. The program also includes weekly on-site water days, weekly Swim Days at Lincoln Park Pool, and several field trips around the Grand Valley during its summer camp session.

• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Summer camp runs for 10 weeks from May 26 to July 31, Monday through Friday, with hours from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm; the program is closed May 25, July 2–3, and no camps are available August 3–10.
• Price: Daily rate is $47.00, with a $5.00 per day late payment fee and a $55.00 activity fee per child due at registration.

The stated purpose of the Extended Hours Program is to provide a comfortable, safe, and interesting environment for children who will be or have already spent a challenging day in school. According to the mission statement, the program is designed so children can be with friends, take part in special activities and classes, work on homework assignments, and relax, while staff make efforts to meet individual needs and build a cohesive group. The mission statement also notes that the program’s design recognizes educational enrichment as a primary means for children to pursue social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth. The program accepts funding through the Mesa County Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP).
