The Nature Connection Summer Camps include activities such as biking, swimming, paddle boarding, climbing, exploring nature, fishing, hiking, foraging, archery, scavenger hunts, and team building games. Campers also take part in bike maintenance, rock climbing, a low ropes course, evening reflections while exploring the night sky, and art projects like nature-based pointillism paintings, plein air painting, art and sculptures made from items collected on hikes, and model clay structures at the Creamery Art Center’s ceramic studio in Hotchkiss.

• Ages: 7–14 years old
• Schedule: Overnight camps run 4 days and 3 nights, with Boys Outdoor Explore June 22–25 and Girls Outdoor Explore July 6–9; Delta Day Camps run Monday–Thursday, 9:00am–3:00pm; the “Send it!” Bike Tech Camp meets as half days Monday–Thursday with a full day on Friday.
• Price: Overnight Camps are $300 per week; Delta Day Camp is $225 per week; the “Send it!” Bike Tech Day Camp is free through DCSD Career Explorations Camps, and scholarships are available.

The Nature Connection states that its mission is to eliminate barriers to the outdoors for youth and families in Delta County and Olathe. It works with partners, agencies, local businesses, and funders to bring outdoor learning and experiences to K–12 students, and to create summer jobs, training opportunities, and internships for high school students. The Nature Connection notes that it has worked with GOCO and coalition partners to invest close to $2 million in connecting trails, climbing boulders, outdoor classrooms, and related projects, and that part of its operation is conducted on public lands under special permits from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the United States Forest Service. The Nature Connection (Delta County School District 50J) states that it is an equal opportunity service provider and employer and operates under permit from the USDA Forest Service, Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests.
