Lakewood Jiu Jitsu Academy offers Gracie Bullyproof Kids Jiu-Jitsu for children ages 5-7 and 8-12. The program is a children’s self-defense class built around confidence, bully prevention, verbal assertiveness, and responsible physical control. It is scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm.

About the provider
Professor Jim Medley has practiced jiu jitsu for over 40 years, and the about page says he has over 30 years of jiu-jitsu teaching experience. The academy is a Gracie University Certified Training Center, and Professor Jim Medley holds black belts in both Japanese jujitsu and Gracie jiu jitsu. The about page also says he has an M.Ed.
The academy says classes are safe, structured, and beginner-friendly; competitive sparring is not required for Gracie Combatives; Gracie Bullyproof is not focused on tournaments, medals, or sport grappling and does not teach punching or kicking.
