Junior Team Tennis includes team-based tennis matches and organized practice sessions. Matches are part of Junior Team Tennis play and are scheduled on Monday mornings. Practices are grouped by age divisions and held on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday mornings.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Matches on Monday mornings, with age-based practice times on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday mornings
• Price: Resident $275; Non-Resident $325
Junior Team Tennis competes in the Colorado Tennis Association (CTA) league. Youth 8–18 who qualify as novice, intermediate, or advanced are invited to play. Players must have a free USTA membership to participate, and parents must provide transportation to matches played away. Teams that do not meet the minimum number of four players will compete in inner squad play.
Practice times are organized by division: 10 & under practice from 8:00–9:30am on Monday and 9:00–10:00am on Tuesday and Friday; 12 & under practice from 9:30–11:00am on Monday and 10:00–11:00am on Tuesday and Friday; 14 & under practice from 11:00am–12:30pm on Monday and 11:00am–12:00pm on Tuesday and Friday; 18 & under practice from 12:30–2:30pm on Monday and 12:00–1:00pm on Tuesday and Friday.
Wayne Applehans serves as Youth Tennis Player Development Coach and brings over 40 years in both Colorado and Washington State tennis. Program leadership includes Youth Tennis Player Development Coach Wayne Applehans and Executive Director Kathy Wallace. Columbine Knolls Recreation District is a Title 32 Special District established in 1964.
