Sunflower Farm Educational Programs offers Preschool/Farm School with hands-on animal time, art, gardening, and water play. It also offers a School-Age Farm Program with self-directed learning, Weekly Summer Camps with animal care and education, planting and harvesting, recycled and nature-based art projects, lawn games, talent shows, animal races, and outdoor farm play, plus 10-Week Summer programs for preschool and school-age children.

Programs

  • Preschool / Farm School — 3-5 · Half-days 8:30-12:30 or full-days 8:30-3:00 · 10-week mixed-age preschool program; children must be three years old and fully potty-trained to attend.
  • Pre-Kindergarten
  • School-Age Farm Program — Self-directed learning experience for school-age children.
  • Weekly Summer Camps — 5-10 · Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm · $650 per week · Outdoor activities include animal care and education, planting and harvesting, recycled and nature-based art projects, lawn games, talent shows, animal races, and outdoor farm play.
  • 10-Week Summer School Age Program — 5-8 · Monday/Wednesday/Friday half- or full-days; Tuesday/Thursday half- or full-days; or Monday-Friday half-days · Runs for 10 weeks; hours are 8:30-12:30 for half-days and 8:30-3:00 for full-days.
  • 10-Week Summer Preschool Program — 3-5 · Half-days 8:30-12:30 or full-days 8:30-3:00 · Farm-based, emergent curriculum with hands-on animal time, art, gardening, and water play.

About the provider

Sunflower Farm was founded in 2005 and was officially designated as an Educational Demonstration Farm on May 24, 2018. Its mission is to cultivate an appreciation for farming, nature and a sustainable future through daily farm routines, experiential play, family time together and stillness. Leadership includes Liz Napp, Hannah Gardner, Sophie Eberle, Leslie McNamara, and Katy Jergensen Gloege.

  • Farmfest Public Hours — Intermittent throughout the year, based on current happenings at the farm and weather.
  • Farmfest Summer Music Evenings — Most Wednesday evenings from May-August and select Fridays in September & October · Food trucks are available on all evenings.

Summer camp cancellation policy: 50% refund up to 2 weeks before the scheduled camp; within 2 weeks, no refunds; refunds subject to a 5% administrative fee. Summer and program registration fee is $100 non-refundable per child, per class. For summer programming, notice to withdraw is due by May 1; the April 1 payment can be canceled/refunded, with refunds subject to 5% transaction fee and no refunds after May 1. Preschool children must be three years old and fully potty-trained. Summer programming will be closed on June 19, 2026 in observance of Juneteenth.
