Mountain Contemporary Dance Arts offers Dance With Me for confident walkers through age 2.5, Little Movers for ages 2.5–3.5, and Sweet Pea Ballet, Sweet Pea Tap, Sweet Pea Jazz, and Sweet Pea Hip Hop for ages 3–5. Dance With Me is a parent-and-child class that explores music, movement, rhythm, and creative play. Little Movers is an independent class for children ready to explore movement on their own, and the Sweet Pea classes introduce age-appropriate technique.

About the provider

Since 1986, the Mountain Kids organization has offered a wide range of dance and movement classes for toddlers, kids, and teens. Mountain Contemporary Dance Arts focuses on the unique artistic, technical, and creative development of each dancer. Its staff specializes in contemporary dance techniques and creative movement, and all staff have degrees in dance and are current professionals taking class and performing in the Denver metro area. The studio houses a chapter of the National Honors Society of Dance Arts and organizes dozens of field trips each year for dancers to see professional dance in Boulder, Denver, Louisville, and beyond.

Non-competitive studio. All classes and performances have family friendly choreography, music, and costuming. One of only a few schools to offer a non-competitive, preprofessional dance company in the state. The program is described as age-appropriate and supportive.
