• Ages: 8–18 years old
Catalyst Baseball Academy is home to the Catalyst Cardinals youth and high school competitive baseball program and fields teams from 8u–18u during the summer and fall seasons, depending on the year. The program provides both off-season and in-season training and uses targeted drills, communication, fun, and objective measurement in its training approach. Small group training sessions are capped at four players with a 4-to-1 player-to-coach ratio, and video analysis is used in hitting and pitching lessons to compare players to pros. Camps are offered throughout the year and cover every position and skill.
The leadership and coaching staff include Scott (Instructor / Summer Head Coach), J.T. (Instructor / Manager), Walker Hamilton (HS Summer Coach / Instructor), Sam Low (Coach / Instructor), and Rey Garremone (Coach / Instructor), along with Coach J.T. Putt, Coach Scott Payne, and Coach Walker Hamilton. Scott led his high school team in Cheyenne to four consecutive state championships, earned all-state honors twice, captained both the football and baseball teams, set the single-season fielding percentage record for a second baseman at Mesa Community College in Arizona, was an Academic All-American, finished his playing career at Regis University, and coached Post 6 in Cheyenne as an assistant for three state championship teams. J.T. grew up in Evergreen, was an All-State baseball player at Mullen High School, played at Central Arizona College, signed at UNLV, transferred to Regis University where he was team captain, received NCBWA All-American and Academic All-American honors, graduated Summa Cum Laude, and played professionally in the United States, Australia, and Europe. Walker Hamilton played for Catalyst and Colorado Academy throughout high school, then played college baseball at Ursinus College, and has coached at Colorado Academy and with the Catalyst High School program over the last three seasons. Sam Low grew up in Littleton and played high school baseball at Chatfield, was named to the top 200 list of JUCO players in his freshman season at Mesa CC, signed to play Division I baseball at Florida Atlantic University and later at Charleston Southern University, was named team captain for the 2024 season at Charleston Southern University, and signed to play professionally with the NOCO Owls in the Pioneer League. Rey Garremone grew up in Denver, attended Denver North High School as a two-sport standout in basketball and baseball, was selected in the MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres as the only player drafted out of North High School in more than 50 years, played affiliated ball with the Padres, coached for the Catalyst High School program, served as pitching coach for Colorado Academy High School, and has coached at every youth level.
Parent testimonials describe improvements in batting and instruction that also included mentoring in character, sportsmanship, and self-confidence, as well as positive feedback about instructors Corey, J.T., and Scott and their interaction with students. One parent reports bringing three fastpitch teams to Catalyst Baseball Academy, and another shares detailed feedback about hitting work with J.T. that focused on swing plane, hip and hand movement, leg kick and load, and dry swing routines. Another parent describes a personal story about a child’s double in a game and its impact on the child’s self-image.
