About

Catalyst Baseball Academy offers youth baseball teams, high school summer and fall baseball, fall baseball, summer ball, team tryouts, small group lessons and training, camps, clinics, and a winter academy. The program provides baseball lessons in small group formats, including hitting, pitching, fielding, catching, baseball/fastpitch private and semi-private lessons, outfield development, and strength training.

• Schedule: 8U–12U tryouts are held on Monday, June 22 at 6:00 pm, and 13U–14U tryouts are held on Tuesday, June 23 at 6:00 pm.

Catalyst Baseball Academy is home to the Catalyst Cardinals youth and high school competitive baseball program and fields teams from 8U–18U during the summer and fall seasons, depending on the year. The Catalyst Cardinals Youth Program is described as teaching athletes the fundamentals of baseball and preparing them for high school in an encouraging and supportive environment. Catalyst Fall Baseball is described as being focused on players using the fall to improve and develop, with an emphasis on development, more practice than most programs during the fall, and tournaments to showcase players. The program provides off-season and in-season training, offers camps throughout the year that cover every position and skill, and offers baseball/fastpitch private lessons with video analysis to compare to professional players. Small group trainings are capped at 4 players in each group, with a 4:1 player-to-coach ratio, and the high school summer team practices several days a week and plays against top teams in the country on weekends. The program reports having placed dozens of players into Division 1 and junior college programs across the country.

Scott serves as an instructor and summer head coach, and J.T. serves as an instructor and manager, with both listed with contact emails on the contact page. Walker Hamilton is a high school summer coach and instructor, and Rey Garramone, Stacio Salas, and Luca Dincola are listed as instructors and coaches. Scott grew up in Cheyenne, led his high school team to four consecutive state championships, earned all-state honors twice, and captained both the football and baseball teams; he played at Mesa Community College in Arizona, where he set the single-season record for fielding percentage by a second baseman and was an Academic All-American, then signed with Regis University and later coached in Cheyenne for Post 6 as an assistant for three state championship teams. J.T. grew up in Evergreen, attended Mullen High School where he was an All-State baseball player, played at Central Arizona College, then at UNLV before transferring to Regis University, where he was team captain, earned NCBWA All-American and Academic All-American honors, graduated Summa Cum Laude, and later played professionally in the United States, Australia, and Europe. Walker Hamilton played for Catalyst and Colorado Academy throughout high school, then played college baseball at Ursinus College, and has coached at Colorado Academy and with the Catalyst high school program over multiple seasons; he is described as an elite-level coach with a knack for player development. Rey Garramone grew up in Denver, attended Denver North High School as a two-sport standout, was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the MLB Draft after his senior year, played affiliated ball with the Padres, and has coached for the Catalyst high school program, served as pitching coach for Colorado Academy High School, and coached at every youth level. Stacio Salas played two years of junior college baseball, transferred to Ottawa University Arizona where he earned a degree in Exercise Science, and then joined the Texas Rangers organization, advancing from intern to full-time strength coach while also contributing to on-field player development. Luca Dincola is a Lakewood native who played for Catalyst Baseball from age 14, continued at Lakewood High School and the collegiate level, earned two Gold Gloves as a center fielder in the Central Valley Conference during junior college in California, later played at the University of Texas Permian Basin and Southwestern College, and served as an assistant coach for the Colorado Academy varsity team during the 2021 and 2026 seasons.

Catalyst Baseball has access to and uses the baseball field at Colorado Academy and includes coaches who have coached at Colorado Academy High School and with the Colorado Academy varsity team. The program notes an emphasis on development with communication, targeted drills, and objective measurement, and describes its indoor facility as beautiful and new.
