Avid4 Adventure states that its mission is based on a belief in the transformative power of the outdoors and a desire to give kids a love of outdoor activity and to support future caretaking of the planet. Avid4 Instructors are all 18 and older and receive serious safety and skills training, and parents frequently mention instructors as a main point of positive feedback. The leadership team includes founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and has 25 years of experience in the outdoor education industry. The organization is a Certified B Corp, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Parents have reported that their children learned activities such as stand up paddle board, kayaking, and biking at Avid4 Adventure, including learning to ride a bike without training wheels, and that their kids wanted to return the following year. Parents also describe the staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion, and note that their kids were active every day and continued talking about camp weeks later.
