Flatirons Volleyball Club is a junior girls’ volleyball club entering its 26th season of training athletic young women from Boulder County and the surrounding area. Its mission is to develop junior girls into complete athletes on and off the court, with a strong emphasis on life lessons through team sports, team building, and team unity. The club focuses on building strong character and passion for volleyball, with an emphasis on confidence, competitive spirit, effort, and respect in victory and defeat, while keeping fun as a top priority. Practices are physically and mentally challenging and are designed to optimize athletes’ time by maximizing touches on the ball, led by an experienced, dedicated staff of coaches. Flatirons alumni return to give back as Flatirons coaches, and team calendars and club events are hosted on BAND.
Flatirons Volleyball Club is a competitive club governed by USA Volleyball and competes in USA Volleyball-sanctioned events. It is a state-registered non-profit (501c3) organization and has been featured in the Boulder Daily Camera Non-Profit Spotlight. In 2015, the club launched a beach program with eight teams that finished in the top five of every event they entered. Flatirons Volleyball Club is proud to sponsor the Monarch Gold Crown Volleyball Teams and hosts the annual “Dig Deep” food drive to benefit Community Food Share. After 26 years of training thousands of athletes, Flatirons is most proud of the lifelong relationships that have continued beyond the competitive experience of club volleyball. Parents are directed to contact Coach Kerrilyn or Club Director Susan Cancilla for leadership questions.
