Flatirons Volleyball Club is a junior girls’ volleyball club entering its 27th season of training athletic young women from Boulder County and the surrounding area. Practices are run by an experienced, dedicated staff of coaches, led by Coach Kerrilyn and Club Director Susan Cancilla. The club’s mission is to develop junior girls into complete athletes on and off the court, with a strong emphasis on life lessons through team sports, team building, and team unity. Practices are physically and mentally challenging and are structured to maximize touches on the ball, and fun is kept as a top priority. Flatirons is a competitive club governed by USA Volleyball and competes in USA Volleyball-sanctioned events, and it is a state registered non profit (501c3) organization that has been featured in the Boulder Daily Camera Non-Profit Spotlight. The club is proud to sponsor the Monarch Gold Crown Volleyball Teams and hosts the annual “Dig Deep” food drive to benefit Community Food Share. Little Spiker training and Friday Night Spikes Leagues are offered for the younger population, and in 2015 the beach program launched with eight teams who finished in the top five of every event they entered. After 26 years of training thousands of athletes, Flatirons is most proud of the lifelong relationships that have continued beyond the competitive experience of club volleyball, and the program emphasizes that teams can achieve more as a unit than any one person working alone.
