About
Northern Lights Little League Baseball Programs include Tee Ball, Minor League Coach Pitch, Double AA Modified Player Pitch, and Triple AAA Player Pitch/Lower Majors. These programs use a mix of tee ball, coach pitch, and player pitch formats, with all divisions playing baseball under the specific rules described for each level.
• Ages: 4–12 years old
• Schedule: Practices for all divisions start in early March, with games beginning in mid-April and ending around mid to late June or the end of June, depending on division; seasons include about 12 games for Tee Ball, 14 regular season games for Minor League Coach Pitch, and 16 regular season games for Double AA/Triple AAA Player Pitch.
Tee Ball is described as a first introduction to baseball or softball and to being part of a team, with no score kept and no umpires, and Northern Lights Little League states that providing a Tee Ball experience grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals is key to growing a child's love for the game. In Minor League Coach Pitch, coaches pitch to players and vary pitch speed based on player skill level. In Double AA Modified Player Pitch, players pitch until ball four, after which a coach pitches until the ball is put in play or strike three. In Triple AAA Player Pitch/Lower Majors, player pitch rules are followed exactly from years past, and both Double AA and Triple AAA are described as instructional and developmental in nature, focused on skill development and not winning or losing, with records not published.
For Double AA and Triple AAA, no Team Manager or teammate requests are allowed, and all players who register and attend one of the League Assessments will be placed on a team. There may be a single elimination end-of-season league tournament for the Triple AAA subdivision only, with no end-of-season tournament for the Double AA subdivision. Registration for 2026 baseball programs will begin October 29, 2025, and end February 20, 2026, or until a division is full, and Northern Lights Little League states that it will directly offer programs in baseball in 2026 and will offer a lot of coaching training and development opportunities.
For Tee Ball, Northern Lights Little League will provide a jersey and hat, and will provide all needed equipment except a glove. For Minor League Coach Pitch, Northern Lights Little League will provide a jersey, hat, socks, and belt, and families must provide pants and cleats, with all needed equipment provided except a glove.
