About

Northern Lights Little League Baseball Programs offers Tee Ball, Minor League Coach Pitch, Double AA Modified Player Pitch, Triple AAA Player Pitch/Lower Majors, All Star Teenager Baseball, and Fall Ball. The program also includes Player Assessments and League Assessments for certain divisions. Tee Ball and Coach Pitch use coach-led formats, while Double AA and Triple AAA use a combination of player pitch and coach pitch with specific rules for walks and strikeouts.

• Ages: 4–12 years old
• Schedule: Spring baseball registration for 2026 runs from October 29, 2025, through February 20, 2026, or until a division is full, with practices starting in early March, games starting in mid-April, and regular seasons ending around mid to late June depending on division.

Northern Lights Little League will directly offer baseball programs in 2026. Tee Ball is described as an introduction to baseball or softball and being part of a team, with no score kept and no umpires. Minor League Coach Pitch is instructional and is the first division where players see moving pitches from a coach, and there are no umpires for Coach Pitch games. Starting in 2026, Player Pitch from previous years will be divided into Double AA Modified Player Pitch and Triple AAA Player Pitch/Lower Majors, and both Double AA and Triple AAA are described as instructional and developmental with the introduction of players pitching and baserunning advancement. In Double AA Modified Player Pitch, after ball 4, a coach will pitch until the ball is put in play or strike 3. Records will not be published for Double AA and Triple AAA, and there may be a single elimination end-of-season league tournament for the Triple AAA subdivision only, with no end-of-season tournament for Double AA.

For Tee Ball, practices start in early March, games start in mid-April, and families can expect two 60-minute practices per week until games begin, then 1–2 games per week and possibly one 60-minute practice per week, with a goal of two activities per week and about 12 games ending around mid to late June. For Minor League Coach Pitch, practices also start in early March with two 90-minute practices per week until games begin in mid-April, then 1–2 games per week and possibly one 90-minute practice per week, with a goal of two (and some weeks maybe three) activities per week and about 14 regular season games finishing at the end of June. For Double AA Modified Player Pitch and Triple AAA Player Pitch/Lower Majors, practices start in early March with two 90-minute practices per week until games begin in mid-April, then 2 games per week and 1 practice per week, with games lasting 1 hour 45 minutes, a goal of 2–3 activities per week, and about 16 regular season games finishing at the end of June.

All Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, and Player Pitch (Double AA/Triple AAA) practices and games are held on NLLL fields. Northern Lights Little League states that all players who sign up will make a team. Player Assessment is required for Player Pitch, Major, Intermediate, Junior, and Senior to place players. All players must attend one of the League Assessments held in February 2025 to be placed on a Double AA/Triple AAA team, and players who do not attend will be refunded. All players who register and attend one of the League Assessments will be placed on a team. Once all Major teams are formed through a draft, Double AA and Triple AAA teams will be formed by League Personnel, not by draft, with the stated primary goal of ensuring team balance. No Team Manager (Head Coach) or teammate requests are allowed for Double AA/Triple AAA, while Team Manager and teammate requests will be honored for Tee Ball and Coach Pitch and are made during registration. Fall Registration is closed for Fall Ball as of August 2, 2025.

For Tee Ball, Northern Lights Little League provides a jersey and hat and all needed equipment except a glove. For Minor League Coach Pitch, the league provides a jersey, hat, socks, and belt, and families provide pants and cleats; the league provides all needed equipment except a glove. The mission statement for Tee Ball notes a focus on fun, fitness, and fundamentals, and Double AA Modified Player Pitch and Triple AAA Player Pitch/Lower Majors are described as developmental leagues focused on skill development and not on winning or losing.
