Storytimes in Clearview Library District Youth Programs are based on the five practices of Every Child Ready to Read: reading, writing, talking, singing, and playing, and are active with fine and gross motor movement, singing, and dancing. The program includes yoga storytimes for more mindful movements and once-monthly STEAM events for the youngest patrons. The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program is broken down into 10 levels of 100 books each, with prizes and a party upon completion. StoryWalk places pages from a children’s book along an outdoor path, with stories rotating every other month and a special StoryWalk Storytime program. Book Adventure Boxes include four to five books and a game or activity centered around a specific theme. The collection for children includes board books, picture books, early/easy readers in five levels, and kits with picture books and read-along CDs, along with e-books and e-audiobooks through Hoopla, Libby, and Tumblebooks, and a Kanopy Kids storytime collection of narrated picture books and educational content.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is available in Weld County and partners with local communities to provide a hand-selected, age-appropriate, high-quality book each month to registered children from birth to age five. The StoryWalk Project used by the program was created by Anne Ferguson and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier, Vermont. The district’s leadership includes Erica Rose as library director. The Pikes Peak Meeting Room renovation includes new flooring and paint, upgraded lighting, improved technology and audiovisual systems, increased storage, and a warmer, more welcoming aesthetic.
