Swim Angelfish Adaptive Swim Lessons and Aquatic Therapy

Swim Angelfish Adaptive Swim Lessons and Aquatic Therapy offers Adaptive Swim Lessons, Aquatic Therapy, and Adaptive Professional Training, including Adaptive Swim Whisperers® Training and Aquatic Therapy Training. The program also offers Swim Whisperers® Certification, Aquatic Therapy Online Courses, in-person training workshops, consulting on adaptive swim or aquatic therapy programs, and has historically run Camp Angelfish as an overnight 1-week camp and Camp Move to Learn as a three-week day camp. The program specializes in working with individuals who have autism, anxiety, sensory needs, motor challenges, or those who learn differently, and was created for children and young adults with various disabilities.

Swim Angelfish Adaptive Swim Lessons and Aquatic Therapy offers adaptive swim lessons for babies to young adults, with both private and group adaptive swim lessons and aquatic therapy sessions. Staff are Swim Whisperers® certified and First Aid trained, and they use the Adaptive Swim Whisperers® Methodology, which was developed from 30 years of experience as Pediatric Occupational and Physical Therapists. The program selects host pools that are sparkling clean, kept at a comfortable temperature, and accessible, and operates Swim Angelfish locations in New England only.

The mission of Swim Angelfish Adaptive Swim Lessons and Aquatic Therapy is to provide Adaptive Swim Lessons, Aquatic Therapy, and Adaptive Professional Training both online and in-person, and to provide life-changing aquatic skills through its therapy, adaptive swim, and training programs. The leadership team is led by Ailene and Cindy, who describe themselves as champions for all abilities and focused on transforming the aquatics industry and making swimming accessible to people of all abilities. Swim Angelfish collaborates with the community and partners with industry leaders to raise awareness, improve water safety standards, and share adaptive aquatics expertise to support inclusive access, and it partners with drowning prevention organizations to provide an Adaptive Water Safety Toolkit and has partnered with larger community and government organizations to bring adaptive water safety skills to everyone.

Swim Angelfish received the NDPA 2025 Lifesaver of the Year Award, which was awarded to Cindy, Ailene, and the Swim Angelfish Community for contributions in adaptive aquatics, water safety, and drowning prevention. The program also offers world-class educational training programs and adaptive resources for aquatic professionals, hosts Swim Whisperers® multi-level online certification, offers free adaptive mini-courses focusing on adaptive swim, and created a free Adaptive Water Safety Toolkit for special needs individuals. According to parent and professional testimonials, families and aquatic professionals report changes in how children engage with the water, and instructors describe the Swim Whisperers® course and certification as a game-changer that has changed the way they teach adaptive aquatics.
