STEM Experiences & Youth Programs includes hands-on exhibits, live demonstrations, immersive STEM experiences, and LIVE Science demonstrations. The program offers hands-on field trips with live shows, exhibits, and butterflies, as well as traveling programs that bring these activities to schools. It also includes hands-on workshops, summer experiences, and activities in art and design, robotics, coding, and digital fabrication. The Forging Futures Robotics Workshop within this program is suitable for children in grades 5–8 and takes place over two days, on August 17 and August 19, and at the end of each day, each child and one adult have access to the galleries until closing.

Since opening in 2001, the Connecticut Science Center has been on a mission to ignite curiosity, fuel innovation, and be a hub for scientific discovery. The Connecticut Science Center features more than 165 interactive exhibits, 3D movies, a Special Exhibit: Sharks, Penguins: A Love Story (3D), Sharks (3D), the Wildlife Encounters Animal Show, and a Shark Week event with the Sharks exhibition, exclusive footage from Discovery's Shark Week, LIVE Science demonstrations, Sharks 3D, scavenger hunts, themed treats, and special giveaways. Additional features include KidSpace Outdoors with a towering play structure, giant beehive, sensory boardwalk, and music garden; a Butterfly Encounter with 20–30 species of free-flying butterflies from around the world; the Forces in Motion gallery focused on forces like gravity, friction, energy, and momentum; dynamic STEM programs for groups of 15 or more; Pathways to STEM through career-focused exhibits, events, and hands-on programming; and the Science on Screen® series that pairs a feature film with a talk from a notable area scientist. The Connecticut Science Center was built with sustainability as a focus and has earned LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
