About
The Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) Summer Program is a one-week summer program where participants immerse themselves in Academy life. For six nonstop days, participants test their mind, body, and spirit in every way. AIM is regarded as the most realistic of the service academy summer orientation programs and is exclusively for students entering their senior year of high school.
• Ages: 16–17 years old
• Schedule: One-week summer sessions, including a virtual Session IV
• Price: Tuition Sessions I–III (In-person): $750. Tuition Session IV (Virtual): Free. Spending money: $25–$50 for snacks and souvenirs recommended.
AIM helps participants discover whether the Academy experience is what they want from college and whether they have what it takes to succeed. Session IV of AIM is a virtual session. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy’s Center for Counseling and Development earns prestigious IACS accreditation. One participant shared, “I learned at AIM that, with will and determination, anything can be accomplished. I now see how physical and mental fortitude are key to becoming successful.”
