Crystal Theatre offers summer camps and fall classes where students take part in acting, dancing, singing, watercolors, theatre performances, and auditions. Programs include original productions such as “The Ants & the Grasshoppers,” “Thumbelina,” “Alice,” and a historical musical about the burning of Norwalk, as well as a historical musical celebrating America’s 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with arrangements of authentic Revolutionary era songs and original music. The program includes community theatre productions that combine classic plays and musicals with adult productions of original works.

• Price: Summer camp tuition ranges from $385 to $485 per session; fall class tuition ranges from $350 to $395 per session.
Since 1987, Crystal Theatre has been described as Fairfield County’s leading performing arts center for children and as Norwalk’s community theatre and Fairfield County’s premier children’s theatre. Crystal Theatre was founded by Alexandrea and Cheryl Kemeny. The mission of Crystal Theatre is to help every motivated student become a better performer through practice and positive reinforcement. RUMPELSTILTSKIN (A Spinning Tale, Jr.) and A SPINNING TALE are described as rollicking musical comedies that ran Off-Broadway at Playhouse 91 for 5 months in 1990 in their original version, and RUMPELSTILTSKIN (A Spinning Tale, Jr.) is directed by Broadway and television veteran Heidi Xethalis. Support for Crystal Theatre has been provided from CT Humanities, with funding from the Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development/Connecticut Office of the Arts from the Connecticut State Legislature, as well as the city of Norwalk, CT.
