About

Metroball Youth Outreach offers basketball skills training, basketball fundamentals training, and youth basketball skills sessions, along with a youth streetball league and a summer youth league. The program also organizes travel teams, elite teams, and an AAU schedule for participating players.

• Ages: 8–16 years old
• Schedule: Skills & Conditioning Training and Basketball Fundamentals 101 each run for 8 classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6–7:30pm; Fall & Winter Youth Basketball Skills Sessions run in two sessions from September through February

Metroball Skills & Conditioning Training is for boys and girls ages 8–16 who are looking to develop or sharpen their skills. Metroball Basketball Fundamentals 101 is for boys and girls ages 8–14 who have not played competitive basketball before. Fall & Winter Youth Basketball Skills Sessions are for boys and girls in grades 3–12 and are described as being for all skill levels.

Metroball Youth Outreach runs the New York Ave Classic Summer Youth League, including a youth streetball league and a summer youth league. The 18th Annual New York Ave Classic Summer Youth League includes Elementary, Middle School, JV, and Varsity divisions, and Week 1 of that league includes only Elementary and Middle School divisions, with JV and Varsity beginning the following week. For Week 1 of the 18th Annual New York Ave Classic Summer Youth League, all teams are asked to arrive an hour before game time to check in and receive jerseys. The New York Ave Classic Summer Youth League is free for all teams and showcases talent in the DMV. The 20th Annual New York Ave Classic Youth Streetball League was completed on August 5th, 2023, and that 20th Annual event is described as the 20th season and the 23rd year of the New York Ave Classic.

Metroball DC is described as the largest youth basketball organization for boys 10u–14u. Metroball DC will be competing on the Adidas Gold Circuit for the 2022 season, and in 2023 Metroball will have teams competing on every level of the Adidas Circuit, from Junior 3SSB to Adidas Gold/3SSB. Metroball Youth Outreach expects to have over 20 Metroball teams for boys and girls, as it did in 2019.

Pinnock Elite, a Montgomery County organization connected to Metroball, is headed by JR Pinnock, who is identified as a former professional player and George Washington University (GW) star.
