Metroball Youth Outreach offers an after school Basketball Skills Camp and fitness program, basketball skills clinics, basketball training and conditioning camps, and the Metroball Basketball Fundamentals 101 course for boys and girls who have not played competitive basketball before. The program also runs travel youth basketball teams (AAU), the Annual Youth Streetball League called The New York Ave Classic, a Sport Journalism Program, and a College and Career Preparation (CCP) Program.

• Schedule: Trainers and youth meet between 10–15 hours per week for a full year; The New York Ave Classic Youth Streetball League is a 10-week event that runs annually from mid June through mid August

Metroball Youth Outreach has been active in Washington, D.C. since 2000 and has worked with over 600 youths each year. Metroball Youth Outreach is a 501c3 non-profit organization, and its mission statement is “Building Character Through Sports.” The New York Ave Classic Youth Streetball League has completed its 20th annual season and is described as the largest youth streetball program in the city, with the 20th Annual New York Ave Classic in its 23rd year. The New York Ave Classic event was free for all teams for the 2023 season.

Metroball Youth Outreach runs a year-round travel team program called Metroball DC that serves over 200 youths in the DC area, with youth traveling around the country to compete in front of recruiting college coaches. The program includes Adidas Jr. 3SSB Circuit teams that travel and compete in several states on the East Coast and in The Adidas Nationals, as well as an Adidas Gold/3SSB Circuit for high level players competing in front of hundreds of Division 1 college coaches, national media, and scouts. The Zero Gravity ZGXL Academic Circuit works with All-Academic Basketball to bring in high-academic college coaches and reaches out to college coaches on participants’ behalf. Metroball Splittaz is the youngest organization within Metroball Youth Outreach and is dedicated to training and developing players.

The Sport Journalism Program covers broadcasting, photography, announcing, writing, researching, videography, and editing. The College and Career Preparation (CCP) Program includes guidance on college admissions, test scores such as the SAT and ACT, and job readiness. Programs operate at several public schools in the District during the school year.

Metroball Youth Outreach has formed partnerships with police officers, city officials, neighborhood organizations, corporate sponsors, local school districts, community centers, and Boys and Girls Clubs. The New York Ave Classic Youth Streetball League is provided to reduce violence in the neighborhoods of Washington, D.C., and has eased tensions in neighborhoods surrounding the New York Ave Playground by allowing youth from surrounding neighborhoods to interact with each other through competitive activity, reducing violence and deviant behavior. Metroball has launched a Global Giving Campaign to help with its outreach programs in communities. Donations can be made via donation form, Zelle, United Way #9836, and the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC #25822).
