• Ages: 3–13 years old
Lowell School was founded in 1965 as a nursery school for families seeking a hands-on, child-centered approach that stimulates students’ curiosity and creativity, creates space for them to make choices, and encourages them to empathize and cooperate with each other in a diverse community. Over six decades, it has grown from a single class of 25 children, ages two-and-a-half to five, in the basement of a local church to a program for over 300 students from PK to 8th grade on an eight-acre campus. The school’s stated mission is that Lowell School equips children to think critically, engage purposefully, and live authentically.
