About

Before and After School Care offers before-, after-, and out-of-school programs for students in grades K–12. The program includes academic help, activities that focus on healthy habits, and activities that focus on character development in a fun and supportive environment. It provides a safe, nurturing space for kids to learn, grow, and thrive during critical non-school hours, with caring adult mentors, friendship, and daily youth development programs.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware operates this program as part of a nationwide movement that has been active since 1919. Since 1931, Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware has focused on enabling young people most in need to become productive, caring, responsible citizens, and for over 90 years it has been a trusted place where young people can learn, grow, and build a better future. Its mission is to inspire and enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is the largest licensed provider of childcare in Delaware and is the only statewide Boys & Girls Club organization in the nation. Tony Windsor, Food Program Director for Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware, has been named to No Kid Hungry’s 2023 Out of School Time Meals Champion Cohort. The organization is part of No Kid Hungry’s efforts to end childhood hunger and provides meals to club members, children in other community-based youth service agencies, libraries, and the Sussex Montessori School.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware also serves military families through the Boys & Girls Club-affiliated Youth Center at the Dover Air Force Base and has participated as a Get Delaware Reading partner by delivering the BookNook literacy program across 13 Club locations as part of United Way of Delaware’s mission.
