American Karate Academy

American Karate Academy offers traditional Motobu-Ha Shito-Ryu karate training. The program focuses on traditional Shito-Ryu training and karate, with instruction that specializes in real traditional karate. Programs are crafted to retain the traditions of karate, with teaching fine-tuned so that children and adults can take part regardless of skill level.

American Karate Academy has been running for over 30 years and is home to over 30 years of traditional Motobu-Ha Shito-Ryu karate training. All sensei have personally grown up in this program and specialize in the teaching and execution of Shito-Ryu karate. The program is led by Kaicho Jim King. The school is officially registered in Osaka, Japan. The American Karate Academy describes itself as a family that prioritizes support, transparency, and dedication to its members and has become a staple in the community. Its mission states that it enforces foundational concepts of discipline, manners, and self-confidence, and that it not only teaches karate but also good character, honesty, effort, courtesy, and courage.
