Boys & Girls Club at Belle Glade Elementary offers daily homework help, tutoring with certified teachers, and 21st Century Programs–Academic Enrichment, along with computer and technology education. The program also includes arts & crafts, cultural arts, photography, dancing classes, basketball, other sports and fitness activities, daily inside and outside recreation, character education, health and wellness, leadership programs, and prevention programs. Summer, spring, and winter camps are also part of the program.

Boys & Girls Club at Belle Glade Elementary is led by Club Director Tamica Smith. Tutoring is provided by certified teachers. Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County states that it works to help youth of all backgrounds develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. One parent, Arnetha, says, “There is no better place to take care of my kids while I’m working and all through the summer than the Boys & Girls Clubs!”
In September 1994, Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County proposed an outreach and partnership program to all Glades area schools, and by December of that year an agreement was reached for the Club to assume the operation of after school programs in three elementary schools in Belle Glade. Over the years, the Glades Area Boys & Girls Club grew to include six school-based sites and one stand-alone facility, serving more than 1,200 youth through programs and outreach. At this site, total membership is 310, with 47% boys and 53% girls. Of the members, 63% are African-American, 30% are Hispanic, and 6% are multiracial; 71% live in single parent or non-traditional homes, 74% live in households with annual income less than $30,000, and 71% qualify for free or reduced school lunch. The program offers daily access to a broad range of programs in six core areas: character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, sports and fitness, and technology.
