Seacamp

Seacamp offers Marine Science, SCUBA, Aquatics, and Creative Expressions for boys and girls ages 10 to 17. Activities include courses in marine science, scuba skills for underwater research, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, and Lifeguarding & CPR Certification from the American Red Cross.

Programs

• Marine Science — 10 to 17 year old boys and girls · Young scientists participate in a variety of courses under the guidance of academically trained marine science instructors, biologists, geologists and oceanographers.
• SCUBA — 10 to 17 year old boys and girls · Designed to give the camper the appropriate skills for safely using scuba as an underwater research tool.
• Aquatics — 10 to 17 year old boys and girls · Sailing, Windsurfing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Lifeguarding & CPR Certification (American Red Cross).
• Creative Expressions — 10 to 17 year old boys and girls · A variety of courses designed to harness your creative potential.

About the provider

Seacamp was founded in 1966 and is described as the longest running marine science camp in the world. The leadership line includes Irene Hooper, her sister Grace Upshaw, and Grace's son, Reece Spencer. Its mission is to create awareness of the complex and fragile marine world and to foster critical thinking and informed decision making about humanity's use of natural resources, while creating and nurturing the next generation of leaders in this field.

Campers are accepted regardless of race, creed, or nationality. All required forms and payment are required before being accepted.
