theCoderSchool was founded in 2013, and it was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Silicon Valley. The program describes its locations as having a cool startup vibe and states that it is the largest coding school in Silicon Valley with more locations on the way around the country. Its mission statement says that every kid is unique and that its Code Coaches are experienced coders who focus on a mentor relationship with students, based on the philosophy “Learn to code, change the world®.”

Each month, theCoderSchool votes on the best app out of hundreds submitted nationwide by its students for its National Top App of the Month recognition. As a longtime partner of the Congressional App Challenge, theCoderSchool supports coding-related innovation across the country and plans to collaborate with the Challenge beginning in 2025–2026 on a national recognition program to identify a handful of top applications from thousands of student submissions.
