School of Surf offers surf lessons, spring camps, summer camps, and after-school competitive coaching. The program also runs the Todd Holland Surf Team for advanced young surfers. Lessons can be taken as private one-on-one sessions, semi-private lessons for two, or group lessons for three or more participants, and each lesson starts with classroom instruction on safety, equipment handling, and proper technique before moving to the beach for water practice with an instructor by the student’s side.

School of Surf was founded in 2011 by Lauren and Todd Holland and has over 30 years of surfing and coaching expertise. Lauren McLean is the owner and Master Instructor for lessons, is a former United States Surf Team member with several East Coast titles, and has been teaching surfing for over 20 years. Todd Holland is the owner and Master Instructor of camps, is a former top 10 Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP World Tour) competitor who competed on the tour for over 10 years, winning several events, and was ranked among the top 8 surfers in the world on the ASP World Tour. Forrest manages surf camps, is the year-round Head Instructor, grew up in a surfing family in Cocoa Beach, was a top competitor on the Cocoa Beach High School Surf Team, and is one of Cocoa Beach’s top Lifeguard Captains. School of Surf is fully licensed and insured, and is one of the only fully licensed and insured surf schools in Cocoa Beach. All instructors are background-checked, CPR/BLS certified, and trained to adapt lessons to meet the needs of every student, with an emphasis on student well-being.
