Kaiwa Art & Play Space

Kaiwa Art & Play Space offers kids art classes, sewing classes, and invention classes, along with camps, open studio time, and parties. The program also offers date nights and options for afterschool, homeschool, toddler, and teen groups, as well as a gift shop. It is a Creative Learning Studio & Shop for kids art, sewing, and invention classes.

Kaiwa Art & Play Space is an art, sewing, and invention studio for kids that opened in 2022 and was founded in 2015 by Keara Trimmer. The studio was founded by Keara in Santa Cruz, CA, and over 4 years it welcomed hundreds of students. The name “Kaiwa” means “conversation” in Japanese.

The studio’s founder and teacher, Keara Trimmer, has a Masters in Art Education from UGA and a Pre-K–12 Teaching Certificate, and has taught in many community and school settings for 14 years and counting. Keara works as a partner to the children to help them achieve their vision for projects.

Kaiwa Art & Play Space was founded out of a stated desire to inspire creative confidence in children and the love of creating. The program states that it believes children learn best when they have time and space to dream, share ideas, and experiment in a non-judgmental and nurturing environment, and it encourages children to work hard and do their best while having fun. Kaiwa is excited to welcome the community and learn and create with budding artists, inventors, and makers in Central Florida.
