About
Camp STEAMology includes interactive exploration, hands-on learning opportunities, and weekly IMAX immersion. Campers launch rockets, build exploration bots, chart their own cosmic course in the Geodome Planetarium, build glowing lightsabers, design clever droids, pilot drones through daring challenges, and learn to use real tools safely as they explore how things work and turn their own ideas into homemade creations. Activities also include hands-on building, tinkering, problem-solving, hands-on experiments, build challenges, technology-driven tests, mixing bubbling potions, growing shimmering crystals, crafting enchanted wands, testing skills in wizard games, tackling magical STEM challenges, creating gooey slimes, sparking colorful reactions, building erupting volcanoes, enjoying a full day of water play, dusting for fingerprints, decoding secret messages, analyzing mysterious substances, hunting for clues, designing towering structures, engineering moving vehicles, filming stop-motion scenes, taking on bold building challenges, diving into the science of ecosystems, discovering how animals and habitats connect, exploring what it means to protect the planet, and taking part in hands-on investigations, outdoor discovery, and camp field trips to Esplanade Park.
• Ages: 5–10 years old
• Schedule: Camp days run 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. with drop-off starting at 8:30 a.m., after care available 3:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m., and one-day, three-day, four-day, and five-day camps offered depending on the week and school calendar.
• Price: Weekly camps are $300 for Museum members and $350 for non-members; aftercare for weekly camp is $55, a late pickup fee of $5 per minute is charged to the credit card on file, multi-child discounts of $10 off the total for weekly camps are available with code 10off at checkout, and additional Camp STEAMology t-shirts can be purchased for $12 at check-in.
The 2026 summer schedule includes Space Explorers (June 8–12), Padawan Academy (June 15–19), MODS Makers (June 22–26), Record Breakers (June 29–July 3), Magical Camp for Witches and Wizards (July 6–10), Messy Matter (July 13–17), Mystery at MODS (July 20–24), LEGO Master Builders (July 27–31), and Eco-Adventure Camp (August 3–7). Every camper must bring a reusable water bottle clearly labeled with their name, and no single-use plastic bottles are allowed. Camp STEAMology t-shirts are required, with one free shirt included with registration for any multi-day camp and an additional shirt provided for subsequent weeks, and additional shirts available for purchase. Daily health and safety protocol review with campers, designated camp restrooms and water fountain, and required pre-registration due to smaller group sizes are part of the camp structure.
Camp STEAMology is presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, and other enrichment activities are brought on-site from trusted partners. The Museum of Discovery and Science mission is “Connecting People to Inspiring Science” and emphasizes four key educational pillars: Early Childhood, Environmental Sustainability, Health & Wellness, and Physical Science. MODS’ access programs, including the Opening Doors Initiative, enable individuals, families, and educational groups better access to the Museum and its resources. The Museum of Discovery and Science has been a cornerstone of science, technology, engineering, and math education and exploration in South Florida since its opening in 1977 and has been fully accredited by the American Alliance of Museums for more than 30 years. The Museum is an active member of the Association of Science-Technology Centers and Association of Children’s Museums, and the AutoNation IMAX Theater is part of the Giant Screen Cinema Association.
