Programs for Kids at The Heights Center takes place across several program areas, including The Heights Center, The Heights Charter School, Heights Early Learning, and MOSAIC Music Ensembles. At-risk children at the program learn character and integrity and are encouraged as they discover and experience the visual and performing arts. The Center also serves as a resource for family strengthening, lifelong learning, and community celebration.

Kathryn Kelly is the Executive Director of The Heights Center, and she was inspired to start the foundation in 1999. The Heights Center is supported by The Heights Foundation, whose purpose is solely charitable and educational as a 501(c)(3) organization. The Heights Center, supported by The Heights Foundation, promotes education and wellness, nurtures family and community development, and provides the benefits of enrichment and the arts. The organization works in collaboration with other organizations to meet community needs in an efficient, comprehensive manner. Harlem Heights is described as a severely distressed community, with kids living in poverty at twice the rate of the rest of Lee County. Each year, 800 children benefit from educational and enrichment programs, 300 families access strengthening and outreach services, and 420,000 hours of services are provided to kids and their families.
