The Education and Community Services Division offers multiple Specialty Camps throughout the year when Miami-Dade County Public Schools are closed. Specialty Camps are city funded and not covered by grant funding. Space is limited and reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, and once the registration period closes, no other registrations are accepted and no walk-ins are allowed on the day of camp. The Kids’ Day Off program is offered during Miami-Dade County Public School teacher planning days for children currently attending MDCPS in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. Fall Mini Camp, Winter Break Camp, and Spring Camp are offered for students ages 6–12 years old, with Winter Break and Spring Camp limited to students in grades K–5th only.

Lunch and snacks are not provided, so parents need to send food items to camp unless notified otherwise. Camp shirts must be worn while in attendance. To register, parents or guardians need the child’s current report card with conduct and academic grades and student ID number, a completed Specialty Camp form submitted online, a copy of the child’s birth certificate, a current photo of the child, and proof of Hialeah residency such as an electric, phone, or water bill.
