Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches Summer Camp includes canoeing, archery, high ropes, challenge courses, and arts and crafts. The summer camping program has expanded to three overnight campuses and serves children ages 10 to 15.

About the provider

The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches was founded in 1957, and its mission is to prevent delinquency and develop resilient, productive, and law-abiding citizens. The summer camping program started in 1981, was taken on the road in 1982, and became a permanent addition after the Youth Ranches purchased a Girl Scout camp in Pierson, Florida. Since 1981, Deputy Sheriffs and other Law Enforcement Volunteers have been involved with campers to form positive, healthy relationships. Campers live among their peers and learn the 4 R’s: Respect Yourself, Respect Others, Respect Authority, and Respect the Environment. The staff includes college students, graduates, teachers, and other professionals committed to helping boys and girls become productive, law-abiding citizens.
