The North Florida Council owns, maintains, and operates two camps: Camp Shands in Hawthorne, FL and St. Johns River Base at Echockotee, home of Aquatics Camp in Orange Park, FL. The Thompson S. Baker Scout Service Center serves as the operations base for all of the Council's activities throughout the year and is described as the catalyst for policy, planning, information, and the stimulation and inspiration that mobilizes the volunteer organization.
Through almost 2,400 volunteers, the council serves over 7,356 youth in over 244 units in 17 counties of northeast Florida: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Marion, Nassau, Putnam, St. John's, Suwannee, and Union. The North Florida Council encompasses these 17 counties of northeast Florida. The council lists a leadership and support team that includes roles such as Scout Executive/CEO, Director of Field Service/COO, Camping Director, district executives and directors, rangers for Camp Shands and St. Johns River Base, and various administrative and support positions.
