Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum Educational Programs include guided tours, interior and exterior museum exhibits, all-age programming, outreach presentations, and approved school field trips and curriculum. Specific activities include Wellness at the Light: Twilight Yoga, the Lighthouse Sunset Tour, and Plant a Tree at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. The Lighthouse Sunset Tour involves climbing 105 steps to views described as breathtaking, and children must be at least 48″ tall to climb the Lighthouse.

• Schedule: Admission Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00am–4:00pm; gift shop Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00am–5:00pm; guided tours available at 12:00pm and 1:00pm, Tuesday–Friday, with admission.

The programs are operated by the Loxahatchee River Historical Society, Inc., a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1972, which opened the first Lighthouse Museum in 1973 and has served as the Lighthouse Operations Manager since 1994. The Society’s mission is to preserve, protect, and interpret the historical, cultural, archaeological, and natural characteristics of the Loxahatchee River region, collecting, preserving, and interpreting 8,000 years of documented history and engaging visitors with over 5,000 years of history and the nature of the Jupiter Inlet. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum is described as an award-winning operation and is a managing partner in the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area, a unit of National Conservation Lands, and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

The site includes the historic 1860 Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Oil House, the 1892 George Washington Tindall House, the 1929 Lighthouse Keeper’s Workshop, the 1940 WWII Naval Housing Building that houses the museum exhibit (currently closed for US 1 Bridge construction), and the 120-acre Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area, a unit of National Conservation Lands, which together receive over 80,000 annual visitors. The activity is conducted under permit from the Bureau of Land Management and occurs on public lands administered by the BLM within the Outstanding Natural Area, and the nonprofit collaborates with partner organizations and government entities and holds memberships in multiple professional and cultural organizations, including the American Alliance of Museums, American Association for State and Local History, National Trust for Historic Preservation, U.S. Lighthouse Society, Conservation Lands Foundation, Florida Association of Museums, Florida Historical Society, Florida Attractions Association, Florida Lighthouse Association, Trail of Florida’s Indian Heritage, Visit Florida, Discover The Palm Beaches, Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, Northern Palm Beaches Cultural Alliance, and the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce. The programs are sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, and the National Endowment for the Arts, and hours are subject to change with tours weather permitting, with visitors advised to call (561) 747–8380 ext. 101 for current information on weather delays and closures.
