Code Ninjas Camps offers activities in robotics, Roblox, Minecraft, and YouTube. Campers build video games and learn to code as part of the program’s hands-on technology projects.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: Store hours Tuesday–Friday 3:00pm–7:00pm and Saturday 9:30am–3:00pm
The program’s stated mission is to turn screen time into skill time and to develop the next generation of problem solvers, creators, and leaders. Code Ninjas Camps uses Outcome-Based Learning, with clear learning goals and activities and assessments aligned to those goals. The curriculum is developed with creation in mind so that students can express imagination and experiment with new ideas. Camps are guided by a team of Code Senseis and take place in a setting described as a safe and welcoming learning environment for kids outside of school. Themes include robotics, Roblox, Minecraft, YouTube, and more, and camps teach life skills such as leadership, creativity, problem-solving, and computational thinking. Camps encourage students to use coding skills to make a positive impact on the community, such as creating apps or websites to solve local problems.
Code Ninjas uses a proprietary learning platform called IMPACT, which is designed to give Ninjas a tailored learning track through Belts in IMPACT. IMPACT provides live feedback on progress through the real coding process and helps develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and logical reasoning skills. The Code Ninjas Prodigy Program offers Ninjas the chance to interact with leaders from large technology and gaming companies, visit headquarters worldwide, and explore career paths that coding can lead to. Winning Ninjas have visited Microsoft’s headquarters in Seattle, including Microsoft’s Garage and teams such as Microsoft Minecraft, Microsoft MakeCode, Xbox, Bing, and AI. Code Ninjas is described as the world’s largest and fastest-growing kids’ coding franchise, with hundreds of locations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
