Palm Beach Gardens Martial Arts was founded by Igor Almeida in 2011, and in 2012 he met his wife, Natasha Quiza Almeida. The program’s mission is to improve the quality of lives of its students by unifying everyone as a family and providing a place for students to enjoy, learn, and grow outside of their homes, with a focus on the key pillars of respect and honor. The mission also states that the program provides exceptional training, serves as a base for professional and non-professional fighters, promotes self-defense, and supports students in working toward individual goals such as becoming a professional fighter, reaching a black belt, getting in shape, or losing weight.

The program describes itself as a base for professional fighters, fighting enthusiasts, and self-defense seekers. It offers Special Needs Martial Arts with individualized instruction from a team of caring coaches. Parent Coaching is available and is rooted in professional martial arts discipline techniques, with personalized sessions offered in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. The Teen Community Service & Volunteer Apprenticeship Program gives participants the chance to gain hands-on experience in various fields, focus on personal development, responsibility, and character building, gain essential work skills, and earn community service hours in a positive, supportive environment. PE for Homeschool/Co-Op programs include martial arts training, life skills, and enrichment activities. The program also offers School Day Transportation (PUMA) to keep children active and excited while parents finish the work day, along with a School Affiliate Program (PUMA Affiliate Program).

The facility is a 7,200-square-foot space that includes a designated parent lounge with a coffee area, a changing room, multiple bathrooms, a classroom, a conditioning area with training turf, and three large matted areas. Testimonials mention that staff members are described as wonderful people who do not treat the program like a business to make money, and that they make families feel like part of their own family. Other testimonials describe Igor and Natasha as warm and welcoming from day one, treating visitors as their own, and say that their leadership shows in their students. Several parents and students describe Palm Beach Gardens Martial Arts as a home away from home, mention positive impacts on young children’s attention in class, and note that children in the P.U.M.A. program have developed a love for training, sportsmanship, and building friendships. One testimonial notes that a family with a kindergartner, a teenager, and a parent all found class times that worked for them, and another states that Igor and Natasha pour themselves into their students and have created an atmosphere where everyone can learn together safely.
