Palm Beach Gardens Martial Arts was founded in 2011 by Igor Almeida, and in 2012 he met his wife, Natasha Quiza Almeida. The program’s mission is to improve the quality of lives of its students by unifying everyone as a family and providing a place for students to enjoy, learn, and grow outside of their homes, with a focus on the key pillars of respect and honor. The mission also states that the program provides training as a base for professional and non-professional fighters, promotes self-defense, and supports students in working toward goals such as becoming a professional fighter, reaching a black belt, getting in shape, or losing weight.
The Teen Community Service & Volunteer Apprenticeship Program offers teenagers hands-on experience in various fields, focuses on personal development, responsibility, and character building, and allows participants to gain work skills while earning community service hours in a positive, supportive environment. Parent Coaching is rooted in professional martial arts discipline techniques, with personalized sessions available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Special Needs Martial Arts includes individualized instruction from a team of caring coaches, and PE for Homeschool/Co-Op is available to meet homeschoolers’ physical education requirements.
The facility is a 7,200-square-foot space that includes a designated parent lounge with a coffee area, a changing room, multiple bathrooms, a classroom, a conditioning area with training turf, and three large matted areas. The school serves as a base for professional fighters, fighting enthusiasts, and self-defense seekers.
Testimonials describe long-term student involvement, including children in the PUMA program and on the competition team, and mention that families train together across different programs. Multiple testimonials mention Igor and Natasha by name and describe the environment as centered around respect, discipline, hard work, and devotion to member development on and off the mat.
