Destination Aviation offers experiential learning opportunities that include hands-on activities related to aviation. The program includes flight simulation and a 30-minute local exploratory flight with a certified flight instructor, where campers observe the application of concepts and skills learned during the program. Destination Aviation allows campers to learn and engage in aviation-related career fields, and each week of the program changes in complexity of material based on age.

The program is intended for middle school students. Destination Aviation is led by experienced instructors, including a certified flight instructor. Its stated mission is to “Engage, Educate & Accelerate The Next Generation of Aerospace Professionals.” The Aerospace Center for Excellence, which runs Destination Aviation, hosts the SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo as the main fundraiser for the organization.
