The Year-Round Academic Enrichment Program focuses on helping students with homework and playing academic games with them. The program also includes opportunities for students to lead extracurricular activities.

• Schedule: Year-round academic enrichment with after school options during the school year and daytime options in June and July
Parker Street Ministries lists the Year-Round Academic Enrichment Program as its biggest ongoing need for volunteers, with tutors serving from one to four days a week with a weekly commitment. Tutors who are high school age and above serve Monday–Thursday from 4:15–5:45 p.m. from August through May, and from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. from June through July. The After School Program runs Monday–Thursday from 4:15–5:45 p.m. and Monday–Friday on school days, and Academic Enrichment Program after school events are listed as 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. Volunteers can earn community service hours, and the organization also runs a Young Adult Program & Workforce Lab, a Christmas Store, neighborhood events, and neighborhood revitalization efforts.
Parker Street Ministries is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Its mission is to participate in the vision of God’s love through Gospel-centered community development in Lakeland’s Parker Street neighborhood, focusing on fostering spiritual growth, supporting lifetime learners through educational opportunities, stabilizing the neighborhood by addressing housing quality and availability, and cultivating connections so gaps in relationships and services are bridged. The Year-Round Academic Enrichment Program serves K–12th children living within the Parker Street neighborhood as defined by Memorial Boulevard to the In Town bypass and South Florida Avenue to Ingraham Avenue. Citrus Center Kiwanis organizes the Annual Kiwanis Pancake Festival that benefits Parker Street Ministries along with other local organizations. Jessica Hernandez is listed as a member of the Board of Trustees.
