About

Pasco County Summer Day Camp runs as a 7-week summer program and includes weekly field trips in the price of camp. All campers bring their own lunch and snack each day, and breakfast and lunch will only be provided by the school board at select locations that are still to be determined. To participate, each child must be able to use the restroom independently, have completed kindergarten, be able to follow directions and perform routine daily tasks without one-on-one guidance, and be comfortable in a 17:1 camper-to-counselor ratio.

• Ages: 5–12 years old (Traditional Summer Day Camp); 7–12 years old (Jay B. Starkey Nature Camp); 13–17 years old (CIT program)
• Schedule: June 16–August 1, 2025, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with optional before and after care from 7:30–8:30 a.m. and 5:00–6:00 p.m.; 7-week camp with options for the first 4 weeks (June 16–July 11) or the final 3 weeks (July 14–August 1); no camp on July 4

Summer Day Camp Counselors are selected and screened through interviews, background checks, and FDLE Criminal History reports, with candidates sought who have a high school diploma or GED and experience working with children. Counselors receive training in safety, discipline, recreation, sports, and behavior management. The program uses a lottery registration system for enrollment. EPIC is an inclusive summer camp for children of varying abilities, has a 1:4 camper-to-counselor ratio, and includes an Inclusive Support Leader on-site at each EPIC location. The Summer Day Camp Resident Youth Scholarship Program offers 35% off the total price of camp for up to two children per family per calendar year, does not apply to Before & After Care, is not available to applicants receiving scholarships from other agencies, is subject to fund availability, and does not guarantee a camp spot. The CIT (Counselor in Training) program is for ages 13 to 17 and focuses on gaining experience working with children in a recreational setting.
