Inspire Studios is a family-owned education center and a family owned music and arts school for all ages and abilities. Its curriculum focuses on core enrichment and creative learning, with a strong emphasis on music, arts, and STEM, and includes programs for early learning, middle school aged kids, and core credit and elective classes for high schoolers. The program operates in a microschool environment with a small student base and mixed-grade levels, and uses a hybrid model that allows students to attend classes for a chosen number of days while completing the rest of their education at home or online.
Inspire Studios was created by musical wellness educators Jason and Cristine Rhodes, who founded The Inspire Foundation, a nonprofit that raises money for music and art programs for children with special needs. Jason Rhodes played drums at a young age and later added piano, and Cristine played the clarinet and piano; they have been teaching music since the early 1990s in the Tampa Bay area. Inspire Studios has been serving the Tampa Bay community, including Pasco, Hernando, Pinellas, and Hillsborough counties, since 2008.
The program offers a secular education that does not incorporate faith-based curriculum into teaching, respects and welcomes families of all faiths, celebrates the diversity of the community, and embraces each family's approach to educating. Its curriculum is inspired by Waldorf and Montessori educational approaches, emphasizes imagination, creativity, and respect for diverse cultures, and promotes understanding and appreciation of shared humanity. Inspire Studios uses an individualized approach that allows each child to learn at their own pace, with a dedicated team of educators and a focus on passion and talent through core classes and extracurricular activities, and was created as a place where all children, regardless of age or ability, can find, explore, and further their creative educational journey.
In community recognition, Jason and Cristine’s work through Inspire Studios and The Inspire Foundation has been chosen as an “Everyday Hero” by Bay News 9, voted “Hometown Heroes” by WTIS and host Peter O’Shea, awarded a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for outstanding and invaluable service to the community, and featured on WEDU Arts Plus Episode 421.
