Counselor training covers safety, discipline, recreation, sports, and behavior management. EPIC: Exceptional Play In Camp is an inclusive summer camp option with a 1:4 camper-to-counselor ratio, trained staff, and an Inclusive Support Leader on-site at each EPIC location. The program uses a lottery registration system for the 7-week camp, with Linked Enrollment allowing all family members to share a single lottery number and Individual Enrollment giving each child a separate lottery number. The Summer Day Camp Resident Youth Scholarship Program offers 35% off the total price of camp for up to two children per family, and a Counselor in Training (CIT) program is available for ages 13 to 17 to gain experience working with children in a recreational setting. To participate, a child must be able to use the restroom independently, have completed kindergarten, be able to follow directions and perform routine daily tasks without one-on-one guidance, and be comfortable in a 17:1 camper-to-counselor ratio. Breakfast and lunch will only be provided by the school board at select locations, which are still to be determined.
