For 50 years, Camp Horizon has operated as a Christian camp and retreat destination guided by Christian values. In the early 1970s, the camp used various properties in Central Florida, and its current location was purchased in 1975, with the dining hall and original cabins built in 1976. The mission of Camp Horizon is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, teaching every person through the word of God that they may know Him and mature in their relationship with Him.
Camp Horizon’s all-volunteer staff includes second and third generation campers and leaders who previously attended the camp. The staff are described as dedicated and trained, with a commitment to making each camper’s experience memorable and spiritually enriching. The program is led by Director Jennifer Montero.
The property includes a main lodge, chapel, swimming pool, dining hall, original cabins, and new cabins. The site is also used in the off-season for church group retreats, weekend Bible conferences, and other Christian fellowships, and is available for off-season rentals to church groups. Camp Horizon offers a tuition assistance program with financial assistance available.
