About
Treehouse Learning Academy offers a hands-on, nature-based approach to learning with a focus on art, science, math, music, and exploration of outdoor play. Classes take place in a variety of nature-oriented settings, both inside and outside, where the outdoor environment is carefully prepared for children to explore under adult supervision. Before any activity, children learn to prepare their environment and are introduced to art, science, math, and language themes that support focused learning through real-life experiences and nature.

Treehouse Learning Academy opened its doors in 1994. The program is described as a nature-based preschool and Montessori is described as a nurturing and holistic approach to learning. The curriculum follows the flow of the seasons and uses hands-on activities, exploration, movement, and play, with outdoor grounds used as classrooms whenever the weather allows. Teachers watch and provide guidance to support individual interests, and students are always given choices in how they express themselves physically within clear and loving boundaries. Educational materials are multi-sensory, and students follow a natural path to reading, writing, and problem solving while developing their own concepts and knowledge.
Treehouse Learning Academy states that kids are meant to move, not sit still in a classroom, and students are encouraged to roam, ramble, and run on variable and uneven surfaces.
