About
Young Musicians Unite offers students the chance to participate in rock ensembles, jazz ensembles, drumline, songwriting, stage production, and internships. The program includes after-school performing ensemble programs for students who want to study music on a deeper level. Classes are kept small to provide a more intimate mentor-to-student experience, and performing ensembles take part in over 185 performances during the annual concert season.

Young Musicians Unite believes that every child deserves access to music education regardless of their socio-economic background. It is the only in-school music education non-profit for grades 5–12 in Miami-Dade County and provides free music education. The program focuses on strengthening music education in Title I schools and currently serves over 12,000 students across 75 Miami-Dade schools. It supports the lives and well-being of over 12,000 students in inner cities every year and partners with schools across complete feeder patterns to offer continuous music education from elementary through high school. YMU partners with teachers and administrators to provide teacher recruitment and training, instrument purchase and maintenance, curriculum design, assessment, and data tracking to help schools launch and sustain music programs.
