Spotlight Dance Academy

Spotlight Dance Academy offers classes in dance styles including jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, pointe, classical ballet, and belly dance. The program also offers private classes and competition classes in a fun and safe environment for all ages.

Spotlight Dance Academy has ongoing measures to support the health and safety of staff and dancers in light of developments regarding COVID-19. The program guarantees one teacher for every ten students, and staff are readily available to answer questions by phone and email. The academy offers private classes to prepare a child for a high level of competition or to improve technique, and its Competition Team participates in multiple competitions across the State of Florida. Children ages 2 and 3 dance free, and boys dance free.

The academy’s team has won numerous championships and special awards since its doors opened in 2011, including multiple Presidential Cups, Top Score awards, and Choreography awards. One of the stated goals at Spotlight Dance Academy is to make each class enjoyable and educational for all students. The leadership team includes Founder, Director, Choreographer, and Dance Teacher Jennifer Travieso, Jazz Teacher Alexandra Rodriguez, and Belly Dance Teacher Kelly Rodriguez, who is described as a Miami-based belly dance performance artist, instructor, and choreographer. The staff includes highly experienced instructors, from world-recognized ballet dancers to national championship winners, and is described as inspiring dedication, teamwork, and discipline with training that motivates students to be the best they can be.
