About
MOCA Youth Art Programs includes Sunday Stories for ages 1-5, with live story time followed by a DIY early childhood art project. It also includes miniMakers for ages 6-12, a free step-by-step art making experience, Teen Art Force for ages 13-17 with drawing, textile design, sculpture, and printmaking, and Summer Art Camp 2026 for children ages 6-11 with field trips, morning snack, lunch, museum-based art instruction, and weekly themed art activities.
Programs
- Sunday Stories — Ages 1-5 · First Sunday of every month · Live story time for children, followed by a DIY early childhood art project.
- miniMakers — Ages 6-12 · Every first Saturday of the month · A free step-by-step art making experience for kids.
- Teen Art Force — Ages 13-17 · After-school · A free after-school art program that provides students with a foundation in the visual arts. Classes include drawing, textile design, sculpture, and printmaking.
- Summer Art Camp 2026 — Children ages 6-11 · Weekly sessions · $220 per week · Art camp with field trips, morning snack, lunch, museum-based art instruction, and weekly themed art activities.

About the provider
MOCA North Miami was founded in 1981 as the Center of Contemporary Art, opened in 1996, and was renamed MOCA in 1997. It describes itself as a vibrant and inclusive space for contemporary art and says it serves as a cultural anchor for South Florida with support from the City of North Miami. It also offers after-school classes, summer camp, and local partnerships.
Summer Art Camp 2026 scholarship applications opened February 24th; general registration opened March 1st. Scholarship applications are now closed. Applicants should expect to hear back by mid-April. Camp is offered in age-based groups: Studio Art (Ages 6-8) and Dynamic Design (Ages 9-11).
