LIVE! School of Music offers instruction in guitar, bass, drums, voice, and keys. The program also includes music production, composition and songwriting, uke-guitar, and uke-bass.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Class options Monday through Thursday afternoons and evenings, plus Saturday daytime, in two-week sessions from early June through early August
LIVE! School of Music was established in 2007 by founder and director Juan Pablo Díaz, and since 2007 the school has grown alongside its students. Instructors are experienced musicians and educators with backgrounds in performance, recording, and teaching, and many are active performers in Miami’s music scene. The leadership and teaching team includes Juan Pablo Diaz (Founder | Director), Daniel Diaz (Co-founder | Operations | Enrollment), Carlos Ayala (Enrollment | Administration), and multiple instructors such as Valeria Reyes (Voice | Piano | CMI), Danny Hayoun (CMI | Guitar | Bass | Music Production), and others who teach voice, piano, guitar, bass, drums, and music production.
The school’s mission states that it aims to inspire and empower individuals through the transformative nature of music in an inclusive environment that fosters skill development and creativity, with students learning under the guidance of experienced mentors who are active professionals in the industry. LIVE! School of Music has a performance-based approach to music education, with a project-based, performance-driven community where the stage is used as a classroom and students have regular performances at major Miami venues. The core program groups ages 9–18 by age and level, there is a Debut Program for ages 7 and 8 as an entry point, and there is a structured pre-college Creative Music Industry program with three levels and a hands-on curriculum that prepares students for auditions, higher education, and a lifelong relationship with music.
LIVE! School of Music is a partner with Berklee City Music, Rockschool International, and StepUp scholarships, and students have access to extended learning opportunities through the Berklee City Music partnership, as well as opportunities to access top universities and scholarship programs. A free trial lesson is available to help determine the best program fit.
