Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties – Out-of-School Time and Summer Programs offers out-of-school time and summer programs for thousands of youth at six Club locations. The organization’s vision is to provide a world-class Club experience that keeps every member on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle. The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties is to enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Since 1970, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties have played an integral role in the Sarasota County community and have been a leader in youth development. The organization provides enriching out-of-school time and summer programs to thousands of youth, ages 6 to 18, in Sarasota, Venice, North Port and Arcadia. Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties provides these programs at six Club locations: Louis and Gloria Flanzer Club; Gene Matthews Boys & Girls Club; Lee Wetherington Boys & Girls Club; Newtown Estates Park Boys & Girls Club; Robert and Joan Lee Boys & Girls Club; and Roy McBean Boys & Girls Club. The organization has received recognition through its “Safety in Action: Celebrating Our BGCA Safety Award Win.”
