The Little Gym offers gymnastics, dance, parent/child classes, pre-K gymnastics, and grade school gymnastics, along with kids birthday parties, camps, and a Parent Survival Night. The program uses movement-based learning and imaginative play in a kid’s gymnastics gym described as a safe space for children and parents to explore gymnastics and more.
• Ages: 4 months–12 years old
The Little Gym is described as a place dedicated to helping kids build strength and confidence and nurturing the whole child, one cartwheel at a time. Its programs are described as designed to get kids moving, boost their brainpower, and, with an emphasis on social and emotional learning, improve the people skills they will need for tomorrow, today. The program uses a Three Dimensional Learning philosophy that includes Get Moving (developing motor skills, strength, balance, flexibility, agility, and coordination through gymnastics), Brain Boost (nurturing creativity, imagination, concentration, and decision-making), and Citizen Kid (promoting sharing, teamwork, cooperation, and leadership), and it is described as having a positive, non-competitive spirit and being SERIOUS FUN. The Little Gym also offers a Parent Survival Night that gives parents a break and is described as the original creator of childhood development long before it trended online.
This year marks 50 years since The Little Gym first opened its doors, with the first location opened in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington.
