About
Camp Anderson Anchored is a Christian retreat program that offers wholesome Christian activities for youth, churches, and special groups of all ages. The program takes place at a Christian retreat center and uses cabins and a campground that past groups have described as nice, clean, and well taken care of.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Open Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Camp Anderson Anchored states that its mission is to love others and spread the good news of Jesus Christ. Many thousands of participants have found Jesus at the camp, including many children who are being cared for by the State of Florida and do not have parents for various reasons. Many churches have sent young people to the camp, and other children in the care of the State of Florida have also been participants.
The camp was developed in 2012 when Joe Anderson Jr., founder of Anderson Columbia Inc., invested in an old KOA campground along the Suwannee River and developed it into a Christian campground called Camp Anderson Anchored. Joe Anderson Jr. passed away in 2016.
The leadership team includes Jon Egan (Director), who served 20 years in local church ministry before coming to Camp Anderson Anchored, along with Allison Egan (Administrative Director), Richard Coe (Assistant Director), Lauren Coe (Guest Experience Coordinator), Kevin Amerson (Groundskeeping | Recreation), and Brandi Cash (Program Assistant).
Group leaders and participants have shared that staff were helpful and ready to do what was needed, that the cabins were great, and that the grounds were nice, clean, and well taken care of. Testimonials also mention that meals were described as delicious, that both teens and staff were satisfied with their camp experience, and that both students and adults were ministered to during their time at Camp Anderson Anchored.
