New Hope Charities Youth & Summer Programs includes recreational activities and academic enhancement. The program also includes food distribution to needy families and elderly.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Summer camp and all-day program during winter and spring break.
New Hope Charities was incorporated as a 501(3)(c) charity in 1988 offering support to the underserved Glades communities. Its mission is to strengthen disadvantaged communities through programs and collaborations that support individuals and families as they develop the skills necessary to reach their full potential, with the stated goal of building sustainable families and communities that will flourish. The program operates in a multi-service facility that includes a Youth Center, an Education Center, and a Health Clinic, and also offers food distribution to needy families and elderly. The program is a Gold Seal, accredited and licensed after-school program service for children 5–12 years of age and is described as an award winning and nationally accredited program that challenges students using the STEAM curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). The leadership and staff team includes Lillian “Lyanne” Azqueta (Executive Director), Jane Maestro (Fundraising Manager), Miguel A. Jimenez (Accountant), Daimit “Dee” Hurtado (Office Manager), Guillermo Rivera (Director of Programs and Services), Lorena Diaz (Program Coordinator), Cinthya Lule (Administrative Assistant), counselors Claris McLarty, Alondra Yanez, Maria Rosas, and Hunrique Mincey, and custodians Enedina Meza and Ignacion Huembes. The Family Center currently serves Western Palm Beach County communities such as Pahokee, Canal Point, Belle Glade, and South Bay, and works closely with other agencies to maximize resources available to those served.
