Camp Fire Gulf Wind Youth Programs offers day care, Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), youth leadership programs, summer camps, child care programs, after-school care, Out-of-School-Time programs, teen service and leadership programs, and nature camp and outdoor programs. The leadership team includes La-Vonne Haven, Executive Director/CEO (Ext. 105); Vicki Terrell, Office Manager & Bookkeeper (Ext. 103); McKenzie Cooper, Marketing & PR Manager (Ext. 104); and Vanna English, Director. Camp Fire values children and youth and recognizes them as contributors to society by honoring their journey from birth to adulthood and fostering their development from dependence, to independence, to interdependence, while recognizing and supporting their roles. The mission states that young people want to shape the world, and that Camp Fire provides the opportunity for them to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are, with the phrase “In Camp Fire, it begins now. Light the fire within!
