Boys & Girls Club of North Central Florida

Boys & Girls Club of North Central Florida offers after-school and youth programs that include homework help, education and literacy activities, sports, fitness and recreation, career-focused activities, health and life skills, and character and leadership activities. Through its Head Start grant, it also serves children starting at six weeks of age.

The Boys & Girls Club of North Central Florida was founded in 1990. Its mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need the program most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Through its Head Start and Early Head Start grant, it is the Head Start and Early Head Start grantee for Taylor County, Florida, and serves children starting at six weeks of age. Programs are housed in seven locations: Veteran’s Park Club, the Teen Club, Steinhatchee Stingray Club, Shady Grove Club, Mayo Unit, Early Head Start, and Head Start. The organization states that child safety is job number one, has no tolerance for inappropriate behavior of any kind including child sexual abuse or misconduct, and continually updates safety policies, programs, and training for staff and volunteers to promote child safety and protect young people from threats in society.
